This 5 page report discusses Plato's 'Republic' and what Socrates explains is the real essence of things or the real essence of the world is the realm of ideals. The realm of ideals is the real world, unchanging and eternal, which can be known by thought. Things, in and of themselves, exist only in terms of having been perceived.
