Zora Neale Hurston's 'Seraph on the Suwanee' / Sexuality

A 5 page paper based on the argument that author Zora Neale Hurston wrote more with an eye to authenticity than to the conventions of the times in which she wrote. Published in 1948, 'Seraph on the Suwanee' was the last novel written by Hurston, and was also one of her lesser-known. All of her works, however, included a measure of to-the-point sexuality, presented in the context of a matter-of-fact part of life rather than for any anticipated 'shock value.'
